Hard to believe that November is just a few days away! This means that the holidays are fast approaching! I love the holidays, but for a lot of people it can be quite a stressful time, with all the holiday parties, socializing, and the thought of new years resolutions looming…
Make this year different! You have at least 4 weeks to trim your waist line, feel good about yourself, and feel less stressed about looking your best at your upcoming parties.
If you hate working out, you’re not alone. Let me guess… you’re too busy, too tired, too stressed, unmotivated, and you’ve tried before and failed at it. All valid excuses. That said, exercise can help you with many of those complaints that you may have, and really, so what if you failed before?!
I’m here to remind you why it’s so important to exercise and challenge your body! Here are 15 reasons to exercise!
1. To Be Happier
Exercise produces endorphins, or ‘feel good hormones. If you’re having a bad day a good workout always brightens your day and helps you cope with less than ideal situations.
2. To Reduce Disease
Study after study shows that exercise reduces the risk of most deseases, from stroke to heart disease to cancer and osteoporosis. Exercise is also a great defense against type 2 diabetes, one of the most widely growing diseases of our time.
3. To Look Amazing
Exercise aids in detoxification so it makes your skin glow. It builds muscle so it tones your body. Exercise also helps to improve your posture. This is definitely one of the best effects of exercise.
4. To Reach Your Goal Weight
Exercise burns fat and helps you keep it off. If you want to have a leaner, healthier body, exercise is your answer.
5. To Be Energized
You definitely feel a greater sense of energy after a great workout! I can’t think of anyone who couldn’t use more energy throughout the day!
6. To Get Better Sleep
Exercise boosts energy levels during the day, but also wears you out. Recovering from a challenging workout will help you relax and reach a deeper level of sleep.
7. To Slow Aging
As we age we lose muscle mass and bone density, which is significantly reduced if you follow a strength training routine.
8. To Lessen Back Pain
In many cases, stretching, movement, and strength training significantly reduce back pain. Of course you should always consult your physician or physical therapist for guidance if you have an injury.
9. To Reduce Depression
Endorphins produces through exercise make you feel happier and therefore help with treating depression. So, even of you feel down, forcing yourself off the couch and getting a great workout will make you feel alive and optimistic.
10. To Reduce Injury
Following a functional strength training program will make you much stronger in your everyday life and much less prone to injury. Carrying your kids, moving heavy boxes, lifting heavy objects, and even sports such as skiing, running, etc… become much easier and less damaging to your body.
11. To Improve Memory
Studies have shown that exercise improves memory and other cognitive functions. A Harvard University researcher was quoted calling exercise “Miracle-Gro for the brain.”

All the things that you love the most in life – your kids, travel, your job, sports, etc… are all more enjoyable when you experience them in a healthy body.
