Each session, our Bootcamp instructors nominate one outstanding bootcamper from each of their classes whom they feel exemplifies the spirit of Best Body Bootcamp. A panel then deliberates and chooses one lucky nominee to reign as the Bootcamper of the Month
This month’s winner is… STEVE MCCABE!
And we couldn’t be happier to congratulate him for all of his hard work and success!
What his trainer said:
Steve McCabe is a perfect example of someone who deserves to be bootcamper of the month! He has been a member for several months since we were inside and signed up to get in shape for his wedding this fall. Steve has been a very consistent member of the group and is always there with a smile and a willingness to work hard which is not always easy so early in the morning. He pushes hard through he workout and it shows in his results! His push-ups have improved by leaps and bounds and his cardio has also improved greatly! So much so that he completed his first 5k run and had also signed up for Mud Hero obstacle course race. Steve’s dedication also extends to his nutrition where he has also been making changes along the guidelines and suggestions made by Best Body Bootcamp. Steve has lost weight, dropped inches, made fitness gains, and had a blast with his teammates! A real winner!
– Martha Munroe, Bootcamp Instructor – Queen West
We surprised Steve with the news of his accolade at bootcamp, presenting him with his “official” certificate 😉 and asked him a few questions about his bootcamp experience!
Fast Facts:
- Lost 14 pounds since February.
- Lost body fat and built stamina!
- Started off only being able to do 10 pushups on knees and can now do 16 on toes!
- Lost inches: Took 4 1/2 inches off his waist, dropping pant size & gained inches in biceps
We asked Steve a couple of questions about his Bootcamp experience; here’s what he had to say…
1 What was your reaction when you were told you were Bootcamper of the Month?
I was surprised! It is very nice to be recognized, it also motivated me to push harder.
2 What was your fitness regimen prior to Best Body Bootcamp? and what made you choose/switch to Bootcamp?
Before BBBC I did not have a fitness regiment. I biked as a way to get to and from work, but not much more.
I chose BBBC because of the fantastic deal on groupon, and how convenient the location was for me.
3 What was your initial experience like (your first bootcamp) and what made you stick with it?
When I went to my first day I was very nervous, after the class was done I was exhausted and very sore the next day. I stuck with it because of the fantastic instructor! Martha can motivate you and make you laugh while working out. It really makes for a great Bootcamp experience, I don’t think I would have stuck with it without Martha!
4 What’s the one piece of advice you would give to a new bootcamper that you wish someone had told you?
Don’t be discouraged if someone can do more than you when you first start, use that as motivation! Eventually you will be the person doing more push-ups with better form.
5 What would you say has been your biggest improvement, both physical and emotional?
My triceps! Seriously, I don’t think I had any before. I am much happier with the energy I have from attending Bootcamp and being more active. My clothes are getting tighter in the right places and not just my stomach!
6. What’s your favorite exercise? Tell us why you love it?
Tricep push-ups is one that I like, I enjoy the break in the middle!
7. Any personal milestones you would like to share with our readers?
Since starting Bootcamp I have started to run 5Ks and did a obstacle course 6K, I know I wouldn’t have been able to do these things without Bootcamp and Martha’s advice!
Congrats again Steve! (on both your achievements and your wedding! You are a great ambassador!
Have a great week everyone!
