This is a great full body exercise that incorporates the arms, core, and legs. I’m a big fan of any exercise that incorporates many muscles groups, because you burn loads of calories and build functional strength.
Forward Lunge w/ Outside Chop
How to:
1) Begin standing with feet hip distance apart.
2) From there clasp your hands together and bring them overhead. Make sure that your belly button is tucked inwards for stability.
3) Then lift your right leg up to, bringing your knee towards your chest.
4) Lunge forward with your right leg as you chop towards the outside of your right leg.
5) Holding your core muscles tight lift your body back up to starting position.
Repeat 12-15 times each side.
Want to make this version more challenging? Add a jump lunge in between or hold a weighted medicine ball.
Have fun!
